Taking Care Of Your Suit.

4/13/2017

SUIT CARE:
It is imperative to take care of your investment. Keep in mind some fabrics are more delicate than others and a little TLC can definitely help with the lifespan of your suit.
When washing your suits please follow the care tips below:

WASHING YOUR SUIT:
  • Wash/Rinse suit as soon as you take it off.  This will allow you to remove all of the tanning before it has time to stain or settle on the fabric.
  • Rinse with water repeatedly until water from the suit is clear.
  • Hang the suit to air dry until you can proceed with properly hand  washing your suit.
  • Please wash by hand in a sink of cold water using a mild detergent. (Do not use Bleach or Bleach Alternative Detergents)
  • Gently hand wash your suit in cold water and continue to rinse until the water runs clear.
  • If glue or tanning stains have settled into the suit liner, then lightly brush the inside of the suit with a toothbrush or a small soft bristle brush.
  • Do not scrub or brush the outside of the suit especially on hologram fabrics as these fabrics can show signs of wear much faster.
  • Hang to dry over a sink or bathtub.
Additional Tips:
  • Always wash ASAP and don't let the tan set/dry any longer than possible.
  • If possible always wait until the suit has been completely air dried before packing up the suit.  This will help prevent mold and odor from developing.
  • Do not soak your suit!  Extensive soaking promotes fabric dyes to run and fade.  Also may cause some of the rhinestones to come off.
  • Hologram fabrics will turn silver if exposed to harsh washing/scrubbing.
  • Baby oil is often used for glaze but it is highly discouraged due to the potential damage to your suit.
  • Do NOT dry clean your suit as the chemicals used in dry cleaning can cause damage to the glue and make your suit unusable.
  • When possible save your suit for the stage and practice your posing in an old suit or bikini.
